Impala knocking noise.

Just purchased a 2015 Impala Limited LTZ with a 3.6 engine 37,000 miles. When accelerating there is a knocking/ticking noise. The harder you accelerate the louder the noise. I was told this is normal. Have heard similar noise when driving a 2011 Impala 3.9.
