Mileage improved a little and I have never reset my 2nd mileage meter which reads 16.2 mpg for the average life of the truck with say 55% city and 35% highway and 10% towing. My Supplement recommends Top Tier Diesel which is almost impossible to find nationwide and if Top Tier is not available "GM recommends the use of ACDelco Diesel Fuel Conditioner" GM naturally does not recommend other aftermarket additives. After being down for weeks I finally took off on another haul yesterday and almost made it 100 miles. Pulled over and shut the truck off. Came back out and all it would do is crank. No start. Tried a few things that didn’t work then dropped the new GM fuel filter for a look. 1) the filter will not physically fit. The diameter is too big (cooler changed in 2020) and without relocating the secondary coolant pump, it's too long. 2) the CAT filter adapters sold previously don't work as the oil cooler threads have changed now. 3) the CAT filter has no internal bypass valve.
